February 2013: Mish Mash

February is always a busy time of year for Michael and I in ministry...not sure why, but boy oh boy it kicks my butt every year. I know it's only the first week in February, but I'm already feeling the craziness come on. Starting last weekend, either Michael or I (or both of us!) have something every weekend in regards to work (programs, retreats, events, etc). Uff-da! But before the weekend even kicked off, we both got to spend some great time with these two lovely ladies all day Friday!

Each Friday, I get to watch my cousin Sara's baby Sydney. She is 6 months old and just as cute as can be!! I consider it practice for what my life will be like in just 3 short months, but these ladies sure do keep me busy all day! Luckily, Michael is home for a bit on most Fridays and he hangs out with us too.

And as both of these girls get to be a bit older, it's so fun to see them play and interact with each other.

Friday night, Michael was at an event for his youth all night, and after a busy day, I didn't feel like cooking OR going out of the house (Yes, it's still freakin' cold here! I'm talking we are lucky if we hit 5 degrees above zero on any given day), so Addi and I resorted to having some popcorn and apples for dinner before watching Pitch Perfect twice in a row that night. I'm pretty sure it's Addi's favorite movie.

Saturday morning, while Michael was at yet another event for church, Addi and I headed to watch Brady play basketball! It's fun to see how much he has progressed over the years...though it was still a low scoring game (hey - they are 5th graders after all. So cute!)

(Don't worry, folks...this is my empty cup. Keeps Adelyn busy for hours though!). Saturday afternoon, we got in some quality play time and hang out time with Addi before Michael and I went out for the night to dinner and a movie (LOVE date nights!). I have to admit though, it does melt my heart every time I see Michael do something like play doll house with his baby girl. Awwww......

On our "date night", I had buffalo wild wings for dinner, and milk duds and an Icee at the movie...and I paid for it! Blah. Why do things that taste so good have to be so bad for you?? It was a good reminder to me why I TRY to eat healthy and/or balanced and whole food in my life. Uff-da.

We finished up our weekend by heading down to Byron (basically Rochester) for a Superbowl party with some great friends. Amazing food once again...and I stuffed myself silly while watching a descent football game (considering I really didn't even know who was playing in the Superbowl before the day of). Commercials on the other hand...well, there were a couple of cute ones...but overall a disappointment. Shoot. That's always my favorite part.

So that's our start to February...most weekends will look similar to this...crazy and busy. I say, Bring it On!!
