Lordy, Lordy it's true...in one short month (ok...less than a month...sue me) we will have a 1 year old on our hands! Good golly, Miss Molly Addi, when did this happen?? So without further adu, I bring you Adelyn Carmack. 11 Months old.
Ok...the personality of this child is HUGE! Seriously. She is such a stinker...but finds herself hilarious (seriously...she laughs at herself all. the. time.)
This months, Adelyn has gotten seemingly more interested in everything!! Such a curious child...
Oh - and she has tantrums mastered. While there are very rarely real tears, when she doesn't get something she wants (usually if it's I don't pick her up or I take something away), she leans over and puts her head to the ground and "fake cries"
But luckily for us, these "tantrums" don't last long. We are taking advantage of the fact that she is still very easily distracted, and we can distract her easily from these melt-downs of hers (yes, she is still playing telephone with everything...including her taggie blanket).
This 11th month old child is babbling all the time, and I'm pretty sure she honestly thinks that she is holding a full out conversation. After she "babbles", she will look at you and wait for a response, and sometimes when you ask her a question, she just doesn't know the answer or what to say...so this is what we get in such cases:
Addi has also mastered the stairs this month! And dang she is quick! The other day, I was making her dinner and had blocked the first 2 steps with bags, clothes, piles of stuff so she couldn't get up the stairs (I was too lazy to go upstairs to get the 2nd baby gate, as the 1st one was blocking the downstairs path), and I literally had my back turned for 1 minute, turned around to see her playing, and she was at the top of the stairs, sitting there...looking at me all proud with this expression on her face:
Yowzers!! Mom of the year (again...I know). Addi still upholds her reputation of being "busy bee"...always having to play, hold, touch, grab, reach for anything!! It's been fun this month to see her figure out how toys are really supposed to work. She has learned where puzzle pieces go in her puzzle, what happens when she puts the ball in her toy (it pops out), and how to put covers and lids on things (well, she tries...)
Just a VERY curious baby!! She is still crawling all over the place, and pulling herself up on everything and pushing around anything she can find to help her walk throughout the house (yes, WALKING!! But only when she's pushing something or holding onto something. Not on her own yet). She still loves to snuggle with Sami, and also pull her ears (I told you, she's a little stinker!), but for some reason, Sami still sticks around...
Adelyn Elizabeth...your curiosity and "strong personality" sure do keep us on our toes!!

P.S. We are heading up to the family cabin this weekend, and will be gone for a week, so I won't be posting for awhile...but can't wait to share our cabin week with everyone when we get back!!
