April 2014: Happy Easter

Easter. My absolute favorite holiday!!

We began our Easter festivities during Holy Week (the week right before Easter) by dying some Easter eggs. This was Olivya's first time doing the whole Easter thing, and she wasn't quite sure what to do with this egg that we gave her...

Should I eat it??

Yep. Before we could even get the colors/dyes in front of her, Oliva cracked the egg and started having it as a snack...shell and all. Fail.

Luckily, Adelyn can understand us a little bit more and she was the perfectionist in dying her eggs. And of course, she made VERY sure not to get any dye on her hands...

The next day (Saturday before Easter) we actually did the whole "Easter Basket" thing, so that we could take our time and enjoy our Easter Baskets, rather than trying to wake the girls up at 4am to find their Easter Baskets before I went to work on Easter Sunday. I had to label the girls' Easter baskets so that Adelyn could find hers that had an "A" on them, and give Olivya the ones that had an "O" on them...

It was a fun and relaxing morning finding Easter baskets, and enjoying our little treats/surprises that were in them. Luckily it was a nice day outside so we really got to get out and enjoy some of the outside fun toys!

Then on Easter morning, the girls and Michael met me at church for breakfast and worship. Right after I was done with Easter morning worship services, we headed down to the cities to join my family in a great Easter Celebration. The weather couldn't have been more perfect (amazing!!!! I want it back...), the egg hunts went great, and the cousins ran around outside all day, loving life and celebrating this great holiday together!

Of course, one of the highlights of every year is the annual Easter Egg hunt. First all the kids get to hunt for their eggs/gifts...

And then it's the adult's turn to ransack the yard in hopes of finding either the gold egg or the silver egg...

(Nope...not in here! The carmack's didn't find it this year, but will try out best next year again! Congrats to Ryan & Dave for finding the eggs!)

The rest of the day, we enjoyed each other's company, ate lots of food, and indulged in plenty of chocolate, jelly beans and other Easter treats.

And of course I couldn't leave this picture out...I believe she is saying, "Thank you Jesus for raising from the dead". hahahaha.

Hope you all had a blessed Easter holiday!
