September 2013: A Day in Duluth

Last weekend, we took a day trip to Duluth to ride the "chop-choo" train, because we have lots of trains that go through Aitkin, and I think it's fair to say that Adelyn has been OBSESSED with trains!! We were so excited for her to ride on a real live train!! We boarded the train, and both girls were mesmerized...

And then the train started to move, and Adelyn was beyond excited (this is her excited face)

The train ride lasted 90 minutes...and it was during nap time...and these girls did great!!! 

Adelyn got to even eat her lunch on the train...

and spent the rest of the time in awe and looking out the window at Lake superior.

I think it's safe to say that she was in her glory!!

Yep! We all had a great time on the train...

After the train ride, we drove around Duluth for an hour and a half so that the girls could nap, and then we headed down to the canal to see if any ships were scheduled to come in. We didn't get to see any big ships, but we did get some great puddle-stomping in. 

And of course, we had to throw rocks into the lake...

It wasn't much, but it was an incredible day in Duluth...living the simple life, making memories, and enjoying family time. Yep, it was amazing.
