This was the week. Finally. This was the week that it finally feels like summer to me. The weather is gorgeous (inbetween rain and storms of course), we've been in some sort of water 4 days this past week (that's how Minnesotan's should live in the summer!), and shorts, tshirts, and skirts are the new norm for our wardrobe (yes!!).
We started off this week by heading up to a cabin that some of our family was staying at for the week. We decided to take a day trip up to the cabin and enjoy cabin life for a day, and boy am I sure glad that we got up and out of the house by 6am for a 3 hour drive to spend the day on the lake!
It was the best day of the summer so far! We went on pontoon rides, jet-ski'd around the lake, hung out in hammocks, played on the little beach and got just the perfect amount of sun to fee a little "sun-kissed" the next day. Oh yeah - and we ate great food, drank good drinks, and hung out with family the entire day. That was the best part:)
We got home late that night and all crashed pretty good for the night! Someday, my goal in life is to have a lake cabin. My family had one growing up and it is by far where the best memories of my childhood were made.
The day at the cabin was the day that I truly felt like Summer was here. Luckily, though, the week/end continued on with summer fun! The weather continued to be great (high 70's and 80's) and we have enjoyed countless picnic meals out on the deck...
We headed to the MN zoo again this weekend with our good friends for our annual summer friend's trip to the zoo (ok, I just made that up, but we've gone two summers in a row now). I did an awful job at taking pictures with everyone so thanks to my friend Maggie for giving me a couple of her pics!
We also stayed until after the zoo closed for a Concert at the Zoo where we saw Eric Hutchinson play (and some other bands too!). Since none of us really knew his music (other than a song or two), it was kind of a fail concert, but we made the most of it and when Addi got restless sitting in our seats, we went to the top of the venue and she danced her little heart out to the music...
And Sunday we had a great day to celebrate father's day!! (Shout-out to Michael for being one heck of a father to our girls!!). We went to church, had brunch at Woodbury Tavern Grill (awesome brunch!), and then headed to my parent's house for a bit of swimming and dinner with my dad! I'm so blessed to be surrounded by incredible father's!!
And to start off my last week of maternity leave (whaaaaattttt???? Where did that time go???), Addi, Olivya, and I just got back from a park and beach day with my cousins Sydney and Andrea!! Such a beautiful day and the girls had a blast at the park and playing in the beach!!!
I just LOVE summer in Minnesota and all it has to offer!!!!! Yay for Summer!!!!
