March 2013: Happy Easter!!

So that's what a normal Easter morning is like!!!! Ok, so this is the first year in over 10 years that I haven't had to work on Easter morning and that I got to sleep past 4am. I even got to see this little girl wake up and run with excitement towards her Easter Basket as Michael, Adelyn and I were all home on Easter morning to kick off  the holiday...

We played with our new "goodies" for a little bit and then got ready to head to church (another 1st for us...all attending church together at the same time, at just one church, and we even got to eat Easter breakfast at church together too!) 

After church, we headed to my Aunt Terri's for a great Easter celebration with the Simon Side. The day before Easter, we had a GORGEOUS day here in Minnesota (I'm talking 50 degree temperatures!!) but of course a cold front had to come through on Easter Sunday, so we were in the 20's. Blah. We were stuck inside all day, but you better believe we made the best of it and still enjoyed each other like we always do:) (Look how big the babies have gotten!!! Sooo fun to have them all mobile and interactive. They sure do keep us on our toes!)

Some highlights of our day included playing in the new Toy Room at Terri's house, and playing with all the fun toys that she has. Addi even got her hands on Marcus' and Brady's new Kendama toys (look out! She thinks she has mad skills, but really she's a mad woman on the loose with a wooden ball on a string!! ahhhh...)

Eating lots of amazing food!! (I was in charge of bringing the jello this year, which is hilarious considering I've never made Jello ever in my life! I came up with these "deviled eggs" Jello jugglers, and a Jello salad to go with them...)

And of course, Easter wouldn't be complete with our Annual Easter Egg Hunt!!! Sadly, I did not find the Golden or Silver Egg this year (props to Abbie and Dave for finding those!!), but Addi found all of her eggs and had a blast doing it!! 

Of course, we had to stop after she found every egg to open it and see what was inside! 

And boy oh boy does this girl know chocolate when she sees it!! 

So of course, we caved a little bit and Addi got some chocolate (I mean, come on...it is Easter after all!). 

And immediately begged for "more" when she was done (how do you resist this face??)

But she wasn't the only one who got to enjoy special treats this day! Sydney was loving the lemon pie that we get every Easter (I don't blame her...sooooo good!!)

The rest of Easter Sunday was spent hanging out with each other and enjoying each other's company. 

And even though it was chilly outside, it was sunny and appeared gorgeous, so we had to sneak outside for some Easter Pictures... 

Yes, it was a great day celebrating the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ!! We celebrated our little hearts out, and Addi was pooped!!! Even after she insisted on having her new "monkey book" in the car, she crashed hard on the way home (while reading her book. Hilarious!)

Happy Easter to all!! May we live as new people today because of our resurrected Christ!!
