Haha. Yes, I realize...the joke is on me!! Just as I wrote a post about being so sick of winter, we get hammered here in the midwest with a 12" snowstorm. Almost the entire state had a snow day (which is VERY rare!!), and Adelyn's school was included in that snow day! Even if I am over winter, there is something that is exciting about a snow day. Michael didn't have to work (he works for a school district that was closed) and neither of us really had to work at church (they were shut down too because they could be!). So all of a sudden, we have a totally free day!! We decided to make the best of it, so we bundled up, headed to Menards and bought the last sled that they had in stock, and then headed out to my cousin Kelsi's house for a day of sledding!
Addi had a blast in the snow, and Michael and I got our work outs in by making a sledding path (no easy task in 12+ inches of snow) and pulling her up the hill over and over again! Kelsi and Ryley joined us sledding too (seriously...such a stud!!) This kid showed no emotion almost the entire day, yet he was totally content being pulled around and thrown on sleds around like it was no body's business! Ryan (Ryley's dad) came home from work and joined in the fun after awhile also!!
Addi got her first taste of snow too...after much encouraging from her mama (she did NOT want to taste the snow!).
After an hour or so...as I was pulling Addi up the hill on the slide, this happened...hahahahahaha. Poor girl...but funniest thing ever!! (Yes, we made her sit there for an extra couple seconds so we could get a picture...parents of the year right here).
And then our day quickly dwindled. Addi didn't want to get back on the sled, but I made her, and this is what we got...
And on top of it all, it was an hour past her nap time, so we were dealing with that also. Even though we ended on a crabby note, I would say this snowday was a success...and we had blast! (Yes, I admit...the snow was fun.) But now I'm over it again, so it can go away any time now.
