I'M SOOOOO OVER WINTER!!! As I sit here and type this, we are expected to get 8-10 inches more of snow over the next two days. But then on Friday, it's supposed to be 40 degrees, so all the snow will melt anyway!! What's the point?!?!?! Ugh. Could spring just be here already?? I'm pretty sure this little lady is sick of winter too.
We have major cabin fever here at the Carmack household, so we have been trying our hardest to get out of the house as much as possible. In and through a busy weekend of work stuff for me, we surprisingly got out quite a bit!! Friday night we got to go watch cousin Marcus swim at the High School Boys state swim meet...he made it to state in 4 events as a sophomore!! It was so fun to watch him (Addi loved the smoothie she got too!)
Friday we also took a trip over to Como Zoo and Conservatory. While this zoo isn't my favorite place to go, our options are quite limited in the winter as to what we can do and places that are open (and Michael loves the place, so it made him happy too!). After walking through the flower gardens and rainforest rooms, Addi got interested in the fish ...
And then we went to see the monkeys, and this little girls was absolutely enthralled with the monkeys! Beside the fact that they are her favorite animal right now and she loves making the sounds that they make, it was totally worth this trip to the zoo to see Adelyn in awe over these strange creatures. She was mesmerized and it was so fun to see her so interested in what the monkeys were doing.
The monkeys were the only thing that we ended up seeing at the zoo because we spent such a long time in the monkey building and before we knew it, it was time for lunch!! D'amacio and Sons...YUM!!
Friday night Michael had to work all night, and Saturday morning/afternoon I had to work all day, so when I got off work on Saturday, we were once again ready to get out of the house and do something. So, when Adelyn woke up from her nap, we bundled up and went to find a park. We got some swinging in...
And Addi even got her first try at a "big girl swing". If there is one positive thing to snow still being on the ground, it is that if she fell off this swing, she wouldn't go very far...
And we attempted a few runs down the slide...though she didn't go very far...
But she found a tunnel with no snow to block her fun!!
We were only outside at the park for about a half hour, but it sure did feel good to get out of the house.
Now if only spring would get here....hopefully sooner rather than later!!
