This is my first post in November, yet November is practically half way over! How did that happen?? Well...this past week has been nothing but move-mania. Yep, we cleared out of our townhouse on Saturday, and moved into our temporary apartment in Woodbury! I was up bright and early, dropped Addi off with my cousin Holly and her family, and headed to Budget rental to pick up the moving truck (Yep! that's me driving the big ol' moving truck)...
Thanks to some of our amazing friends and family, we were able to move 1/2 of our belongings to storage, and the other 1/2 of our stuff to our new apartment. All in one Day!!!! Thank you Thank you Thank you to all of you reading this who helped us move or supported us (through giving us boxes, food, or watching Addi)!! Seriously, I am SO thankful for you all!! After 8 years (almost to the day) of living in this place, it was, for the first time ever, completely empty.
This is such a bittersweet move. It's "bitter" because we have to live in an apartment for the next 9 months or so until I graduate Seminary and (hopefully) get a job. I haven't lived in an apartment since College, so I am NOT looking forward to this. But, it's "sweet" for a few reasons: 1) We found renters for our place and are making a good chunk of money by turning our townhouse into a "rental property", and 2) This means that we are one step closer to our next adventure in life...and bigger and better for our family.
Today we spent ALL day cleaning the townhome, getting it ready for the carpets to be cleaned tomorrow, and the new renters to move in on Thursday. 3 of us working all day and we STILL didn't quite get the entire place cleaned and paint touched up (almost! but not quite). HUGE thank you to my Mom, Dad and Holly for helping out today! I can't imagine ever getting this done by myself (well, let's be honest. It wouldn't have happened). Lookin' good ladies!!
And now the rest of the week will be spent unpacking, finishing up cleaning the townhouse, turning it over to the new renters, and getting our new place in order. Sorry for the lame pictures this week, but it's been a pretty lame week (isn't any moving experience lame?? How have we not (as a progressing society) figured out a better way to do this thing?)
Blah. That's how I feel as I write about my week today.
