I knew this day would come...but I didn't really believe it.
Today...yes, folks, TODAY, I have a 1 year old. Did you get that??
ADELYN IS 1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(Holy Crap!)
People say that these years go by fast...but I never expected it to FLY. My baby girl...
I could have not asked for a more perfect year! What a blessing Adelyn has been to us in our lives. So full of personality and smiles, and spunk! She is just growing and learning so much every day. She still loves to clap (mostly for herself) and blows kisses, and waves "bye-bye"...
She loves her dolly, spends hours opening and closing cabinets, loves to go on walks and bike rides (in her trailer), LOVES the water in any shape, way, or form (bath, pool, lake, etc.), loves fruit, cheese, ravioli, broccoli, and crackers, and she is constantly talking and talking and talking (her own language of course)
But today, my friends, is the day that this precious little girls transitions from months to years. It's a transition...a milestone...a "holy crap!" moment for us all...One year ago, This crazy, beautiful, loving, amazing and precious child graced us with her presence (feel free to reminisce that story here!) Adelyn is 1, and let's just say she is taking the news WAY better than her mother is!!
This past month, Adelyn has continued to get more curious and adventuresome. Climbing stairs, letting go of what she is holding onto in order to stand on her own, finding new ways to play, and also developing some separation anxiety. She still LOVES to smile, and laugh and repeat actions and sounds.
One new thing this month (that I just LOVE) is when someone says "OH NO!!", she puts her hands on her cheeks (which sometimes actually ends up being closer to her ears like the picture below...)
And this girl has yet to slow down!!! Definitely NOT a cuddler...she is on. the. go. Jumping, butt bouncing, crawling, wiggling, climbing...you name it! I absolutely love it and everything that she has come to be!
At the end of the day, she's pooped (as are her parents!). Adelyn Elizabeth - you have provided more joy for us that we could have ever imagined over this past year! You are absolutely precious.
HAPPY 1ST BIRTHDAY ADELYN!!!
WE LOVE YOU!!!
