This past Saturday, my friends (Suelynn & Maggie - the same ladies that were a part of our "weekly friend dinner" that we had this past year) and I signed up to run a 5k that benefited Kids Against Hunger. We signed up quite awhile ago, so we have been training (as much as we can) for quite some time. It's amazing to me that I was ever able to run a marathon (remember this???) because seriously running 3 miles is no easy task for me these days.
But...I did it!! And I crushed my goal!! I had a goal to run 10 minute miles (with a finishing time around 32 minutes or so) and I actually ended up running 8:55 minute miles with a finishing time of 28-ish minutes!! Not sure what got into me (maybe it was the fact that I was soaking wet due to the constant rain that we ran through!) But it felt good!!
Once again, Adelyn was a trooper while hanging out with dad and Aaron (Suelynn's husband) in the rain while mom ran. She was soaking wet also, but it didn't even phase her!! She was there to greet me when I finished running
Oh and my friends Suelynn and Maggie did awesome too!! they both surpassed their goals as well and did incredible!! I was so impressed with all of us!!!
So through the rain, and through the running, this is what counts...this is what I live for - people who mean the world to me!! Thanks ladies, for always being by my side...even through the struggles of running and through the soaking wet rain!!
