January 2012: HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

Every year, it has become a tradition that I host a fondu-party for a group of our friends for New Year's Eve. I realized this year, it is MUCH harder to get ready for a party with a 5 month old around than it has ever been. But somehow, Michael and I tag-teamed and got our house and all the food ready in time for another great party!

This party was fun! Within 4 months this past summer and fall, three of us in this group of friends had babies. In addition, this December, my cousin Jessica also had a baby, and all of these babies were at the New Year's Eve Party (yes, that's right...4 babies under 5 months old).

this was the first time Adelyn got to meet her new playmates...First she got to meet baby Owen (Jon and Beth's child...and the next oldest after Adelyn):

And then Blake (Scott and Betty's baby and the next oldest of the bunch). He's the one sleeping in the front of this picture:

And the youngest of the bunch...only 10 days old when he attended his first New Year's Eve Party was baby Nathanial:

I am excited for when all these kids get to be a bit older and can all play together! My cousin Jenny is also expecting in February (a girl! Yay!) so there will be another one in the mix at next year's party also! But this year was nice too...all the babies slept most of the evening (except of course, for Adelyn who just couldn't miss the party. Truly, her mother's daughter):

We had a great time together fonduing, playing games, and passing around each other's kids!

What a great night we had! We didn't get to bed until after 2am that night (haven't seen that hour of the morning in quite a few months!) Adelyn stayed up that late too...and gave us a nice morning of sleeping in when she slept until noon the next day.

The new year of 2012 began with a relaxing day. After attempting to clean a bit after our party, we caved into an invitation to go play games with some family members. Adelyn enjoyed playing with her little cousins for the day too! Oh - and Jenny doesn't like games, so that's what she gets for not wanting to play (haha...actually, we are very grateful that she doesn't like games, but she does like kids so that we can all play games!)

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!
MAY YOUR YEAR BRING YOU MUCH HAPPINESS, JOY, AND LAUGHTER!!
