A SAVIOR IS BORN!!!!
AND THAT MEANS WE CELEBRATE!!!
Merry Christmas Adelyn!!! This is my favorite picture that we took of you this holiday season that was also featured on our Christmas Card! Just had to give it a shout out on the blog also:)
Well, what a crazy, but exciting Christmas we had. Due to the fact that I am an intern Pastor this Holiday Season, I had to work all services on Christmas Eve. I was lucky, though to get a small break in which I ran back to Stillwater to be a part of the annual tradition of Christmas Eve at the Greens. I'm a bit sad that we don't have any pictures from that night, because it is one of my most favorite nights of the year. Santa comes, kids open presents, we indulge ourselves in shrimp dip, slushies, lobster, steak and all we can eat Christmas cookies! Truly, an incredible evening spent with family.
I didn't get home until after midnight on Christmas Eve after my last service at Church, so we decided to celebrate as a family on Christmas morning. Due to the festivities of Christmas day, however, we had to start our celebration extremely early! Typically, I do not, under any circumstances, wake up Adelyn when she is sleeping, but this was a special day, so Michael and I woke Adelyn up at 6am for a Christmas morning together (mind you, she usually sleeps until 10am on any given day).
We went down to the tree, where we enjoyed some coffee, a bottle, and opening Christmas presents from each other, and even a few from Santa!
After Christmas morning, with just the 3 of us, we headed over to my parents around 8am, to enjoy Christmas with the rest of our family:) Yes, more presents were opened....
At about 8:30am, Adelyn was tukered out and snuggled into Dad's shoulder and took her first nap(Still not used to being up this early):
Then, at noon, we headed over to G.G's house (which stands for Great Grandma, and is the name my grandma has adopted now that she has Great Grandchildren), to celebrate with the Simon Side. One super great thing this year is that my cousin Kelsi (on the left) and her boyfriend Ryan told us they are expecting a child!! It was only a year ago that we also made the big announcement to our family, so when inquiring when their baby is due, we found out that it is due July 31st...one day after Addi's birthday!!!!! Our other cousin Madi also shares a birthday with Addi (she's 5...wait, maybe 6?) so it's just a fun day for the whole family. Can't wait for next year when Adelyn has a baby cousin to play with!
And of course, there were lots more presents to be shared. G.G. got a kindle fire...
Adelyn got lots of fun toys....though I think secretly she liked the paper and the bows better:)
And she got a Target Gift Card from G.G (Addi LOVES Target!! She's definitely her mother's daughter)
After a great day spent with Family, we left straight from G.G.'s house and headed to the airport to continue the celebration with our family in Texas.
Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night:)
