We've officially been home for one week with two children...and we are loving every minute of it! Of course there are the challenging times (when one unnamed child is throwing a tantrum on the floor while the other unnamed child believes it's the end of the world because she just woke up!) but for the most part, we have been going...going...going...and having a blast as a family of four while Michael is on Paternity leave and home as well! Unfortunately, the weather determines what we do each day...Minnesota is still on hormone pills (40 degrees one day...almost 80 today!!). So here's a glimpse of some of the things we have been up to this past week...
Outside strolls and playing in the puddles...
Playdates with friends...(this is Norah - Katie's little girl!! She's gotten so big!)
Mall of America to ride rides and do a bit of shopping...
And as we passed the Build a Bear Workshop store at MOA, we saw a monkey in the window that we just couldn't pass up (Adelyn LOVES monkeys right now). She got to pick out a heart, put it in the monkey, and then help stuff the monkey too!! She never took her eyes off her monkey through the whole process! And she hasn't let it leave her sight since...
Did I mention we are into hats in this house?? Ok, not really...but Michael likes to make sure his girls know that they are longhorn fans already...and that we will have proof of that as they grow up through pictures...
And believe it or not...we do just hang out once in awhile. Not often, but it does happen!!
But with this RARE weather that we seem to have once in awhile (I'm holding my breath...I don't believe it is here to stay yet). we have to take every opportunity to get outside when we can (oh - and I go stir crazy when we aren't outside on a nice day).
Addi got to ride the tractor with her Papa (that's what she calls her Grandpa) for the first time. She only lasted about 5 minutes, but she thought it was pretty cool...
Yesterday, we headed up to Lindstrom for the afternoon/evening to hang out with my cousins and start planning their graduation party!!! I can't believe that they are graduating soon!!! We had a great dinner, got lots of planning done, and got to play outside some with the bunny and a ball and on the swing set! We always have a blast when we are with these Lindstrom folks:)
And of course, adjusting to life with 2 kids also means we have our tough days where meltdowns are more frequent, and sleep is rare, but through it all, we are a family and love to be together and make memories and explore and just be us! So far Olivya has done great at fitting right in and going along with the flow!! (whew!!)
Life is Good!!
