Easter is my favorite holiday of the year. There is something about the simplicity of it all that I just love. Sure there are Easter Bunnies and baskets and candy and eggs, but still, society (or do I mean retail stores?) seems to "downplay" Easter (at least more so than Christmas) so that it still seems "holy" in a way. To me it's a holiday of newness...and hope....and promise...and reassurance....
That God loved us all so much that he sent his one and only Son to not only die for us...but to defeat death so that we could live eternally with God forever.
Did you get that??? Christ is Risen!!!
We began the day by both of our alarm clocks going off in the 4am hour (ahhh...the ministry life on Easter Sunday...) and after a morning filled with Church activities and worship services galore, we headed to my grandma's house to spend the rest of the day with some great family!! We couldn't resist but to take a picture with G.G. and all her great grandkids (L-->R is Madi, Addi, Gracie & Brady)
And then of course we took part in the annual Easter Egg hunt! Addi's first one and she had stuff hidden all over the yard!!
A quick break for a family picture....
The rest of the day was spent playing with new toys and trinkets, enjoying the beautiful weather, eating lots of good food, and spending great time with family!
Christ is Risen! He is risen indeed!!
Happy Easter everyone!!
