This weekend, we had 2 house showings (yes, we finally put our house on the market!), so of course we had to get out of the house while it was being shown. On Sunday, we decided to go have lunch at Panera, one of our absolute favorite places for lunch. Adelyn thought she was in her glory when I gave her the remains of my apple to play with/eat. This is how it went down...
"Really Mom?? You just gave me this?? Do you know that you did that??"
"Ok...well, since you haven't taken it away, I am going to put it in my mouth now...I'll give you one more chance...are you sure about this???"
"You snooze you lose mom!! It's mine now. What a treat!"
Never have I seen our daughter so content for such a long time. I think that Apple was dry by the time she had sucked all the juice out of it. Oh - and she was not about to let go of that tasty treat. When she wasn't looking, I had to snatch it out of her hand, throw it in the garbage, and wisk her away into her car seat so that she would not realize that this precious piece of already eaten fruit had been taken from her.
