Week 8: Birthday Fun!!

Yep...that's right! This week, I turned the big 3-0!!!! Look at all those candles!!!

While I ended up having to work on my birthday, it ended up being a pretty great day! Michael got me this cake that we enjoyed after meeting a bunch of family and friends for dinner at Acapulco! Yum...my favorite!! We came back to our house after dinner for cake, ice cream and games.

Earlier that day, since I had to work, Adelyn got to hang out with the Ericksons for a few hours. Much to my surprise, when I went to go pick up Adelyn, I got to enjoy a glass of wine with Holly, and Hannah made me a birthday cake!! So we all got to enjoy a celebration! I love this family!! They mean so much to me, so I was very blessed to be able to celebrate my 30th with them!

Well, if you know anything about my family, we do not just get one day to celebrate our birthdays...we get a whole week!!! My dad's birthday is two days before mine, so we always go out as a family to celebrate. The day after my birthday, we went to Osaka teppanaki restaurant, and it was fabulous!!! Another surprise came when the staff came out, sang "Happy Birthday", and put this crazy funny mask-head on me!! I'm not a fan of all that attention, but I was a good sport about it:) Brady thought it was hilarious!!!

Meanwhile, we decided that to really enjoy a fun night out, we would leave Addi with my aunt Terri and cousin Abbie. While I was getting dressed up, Addi was too!! Terri and Abbie had a dress-up fashion show with her...this is one of her great looks that night:

After dinner, we all decided to go bowling...even my 86 year old Grandma!! It was a fun time...I even beat Michael by one point in our first game!!! (we won't mention that he creamed me in the 2nd game...haha).

And Luckily for me...my birthday celebration continues next week when I will be heading to Vegas with some friends to celebrate this 30th birthday:)

In the meantime...we are still enjoying a picture-perfect fall here. We brought Addi to another apple orchard, and finally bought our honey-crisp apples!!! Those apples are one of my favorite parts of fall!

Addi is still loving hanging out with Gramma Seekel when mom goes to work 4 days a week. I might have mentioned in an earlier post that my daughter now has a better social life than I do! On Tuesday mornings, she has coffee dates with Auntie Terri and G.G....

She also get to play lots at Gramma's. She's recently started reaching for the toys on her play mat!! (it's the little things....)

But no worries...when we get to spend time together, we have fun too!!! Addi got to go front-facing in her stroller for the first time this week. She stayed awake, cooing and looking around for over an hour on our walk this week! It was a whole new world to her!!

What a busy week!!! Can't wait to see what next week brings!!! Happy Fall!!
